The more vulnerable the client, the more important it is that legalities are observed.
Catholic Charities is recognized by courts and attorneys as an impartial, qualified financial representative for those who are unable to handle their own legal and financial affairs. Power of Attorney services are provided for individuals who have the legal authority to appoint Catholic Charities to handle such matters for them.
As Power of Attorney, Catholic Charities makes decisions with the client, including decisions about medical treatments, housing opportunities, benefit applications and financial planning. We work closely with individuals to make sure their health and financial needs are being met.
Eligibility criteria
The process begins with an initial assessment and evaluation of needs with the client. The Power of Attorney paperwork will be completed by a local attorney. Costs are fee-based, and clients must be 18 years or older.
