Community Assistance and Resources for Seniors (C.A.R.E.S.) assists seniors with their independent activities of daily living.
Volunteers who are trained and screened provide the following services:
- Transportation to medical appointments, bank, pharmacy, or grocery store
- Help with shopping and errands
- Friendly visits
- Telephone reassurance
- Minor home repairs
- Assistance with yard work for safety and security purposes
Eligibility criteria
C.A.R.E.S. services are available to low-income adults 60 years or older.
Required paperwork and cost
A simple telephone intake is all that is necessary, and services are free.
