In-Home Respite Care Program Coordinator

Qualifications
College degree, preferably in social work or human services
Marketing program to potential clients and referral sources
Conducting assessments and developing care plans
Educating families on care giving and connecting them to resources to meet their needs
Working with seniors
Recruiting and training respite workers
Coordinating with respite workers and families to schedule assignments
Evaluating the quality of care given by respite workers
Generating reports
Must be caring and compassionate with a desire to help seniors age in place


Life Coach
Catholic Charities has an opening for a Life Coach. This is a new, full-time, grant-funded position with benefits. We are looking for a Medical Assistant or LPN with hospital experience. The Life Coach will be based in the Emergency Department of a hospital located in Portsmouth, VA. The Life Coach is responsible for connecting patients with chronic illnesses to a primary care physician and to resources in the community. Guardianship Case Manager
Catholic Charities Guardian and Conservator program is growing. We have an opening for a part-time worker. This position is part-time but may become a full time position. Director of Clinical Counseling
Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia is looking for an experienced individual to run our Clinical Counseling Services. The candidate should have a track record of growing and expanding services while continuously improving clinical and service quality. Also, develop new areas of program expansion. Leadership experience a must. Masters degree in Social Work or Counseling, licensed in the State of Virginia, or has a proven track record with growing counseling services successfully. Part Time Licensed Clinician

Pre-Marital Preparation Facilitator Positions
Facilitators are needed to run bi-monthly Pre-Marital Preparation course for couples planning to be united in the Holy Sacrament of Marriage. Requirements include being a Catholic in good standing, previous experience as a facilitator, and knowledge of one or more of the subject areas: Building Your Marriage on a Sound Foundation, Establishing Emotional Intimacy, Dealing with Conflict and the Sacrament of Marriage. (A Deacon is preferred for the last section). It would be highly desirable to have a married couple as facilitators. The Pre-Marital classes are held in Virginia Beach and Newport News on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month. Contract Respite Worker Positions
Catholic Charities’ In Home Respite Care program is now accepting applications for its next respite care worker training class. The FREE 25 hour training class prepares workers to assist older adults.  After completing the class assisgnments to work will be made in 3 to 8 hour increments in various households in Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Suffolk. Volunteer

Can you give 2 or 3 hours per week/per month you would like to volunteer? Catholic Charities needs individuals for administrative duties including to answer phones, filing and perform other office duties as assigned.  If you would like to help, complete this form and email it to us.

Services needed for our programs serving people:

Volunteers are needed in all offices to drive clients to medical appointments, etc., and to receive donated infant/toddler and senior adult goods and keep inventory storeroom organized. 

Services needed for agency operations:

Volunteers are needed to assist with office duties, such as database entry, other computing; clerical/receptionist support from word processing to spreadsheets to photocopying and envelope stuffing; online research; special event planning. Please contact the office at which you would like to volunteer to discuss your interest.

Qualifications:

Volunteers must be at least 17 years old and complete the Catholic Charities’ Volunteer Orientation.
