In-Home Respite Care from Catholic Charities provides caregivers with a short-term break. A trained worker will stay in the home with a loved one, assuring the client’s safety, assisting with meals and toileting, transferring from bed or chair, and offering companionship.

(In-Home respite care services do not include transportation, nail cutting, bathing, or dispensing medication from a bottle. If a loved one needs this kind of help, call us, and we’ll connect you with the appropriate services.)

Eligibility criteria

In-Home Respite Care is available to adults 60 years or older. The adult must be living with their primary caregiver in the home or providing care for a loved one in the home.

Required paperwork and cost

A free in-home assessment and proof of income are required. The fee is on a sliding scale based on income (private pay only); $7.75 per hour is the maximum fee.
