Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia’s Post Adoption Program utilizes the evidence-based Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) approach developed by Dr. Karen Purvis and Dr. David Cross. The goal of the program is to help educate, support, and provide tools and materials to help families maintain successful adoptive placements, especially for families who have adopted children from difficult backgrounds.
Three levels (Tiers) of support are available and families may work in collaboration with their social worker and/or Catholic Charities staff to determine which Tier of service would be most appropriate for them. All services are FREE of charge.
For more information please visit our adoption website or call at 757-456-2366.
Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia’s Post Adoption Case Management Program (FAM-18-003-1) is a grant funded program by the Virginia Department of Social Services. This program provides a minimum of twelve months of case management to any family who has adopted through the foster care system or through an international adoption. Families can self-refer, be referred by their adoption worker, or be referred from another professional that they work with. This program provides advocacy, support, service coordination, location of needed services, and adoption friendly events throughout the year.

Grandparents as Parents Support Groups

Together, we address the unique issues and questions, needs and obstacles of parenting a relative’s child. Our groups provide a place to openly express your feelings, gain a positive focus, receive emotional support, and share information on community resources and social activities.
