As we all know full well, Covid-19 is having a detrimental impact on the world around us and the CCEVA family would like to wish our very best to those who have been affected and for you to know that we have you in our prayers.
On this day when the Catholic Church honors and celebrates Saint Joseph, we should turn to him for guidance in these difficult times. Saint Joseph is a wonderful example of answering God’s call during uncertain times. He shows us that even during times when we as humans struggle to understand God’s plan, to trust God and overcome the temptation to doubt and despair.
Social isolation and distancing has showed us the powerful need we all have to connect. One way to connect is through prayer and almsgiving. We ask that you please continue to keep our families and the working poor in your prayers and let us pray to Saint Joseph to give us the strength to persevere in these uncertain times.
Our highest priority is the health and well-being of our employees and the individuals who rely on us for critical services. The coming days and weeks will be uncertain for everyone, and school and business closures present an even greater threat to the economic and social well-being of our families.
We will continue to operate as many services as we can remotely and will have limited hours on Mondays and Fridays for our representative payee clients, and families picking up layettes or who need emergency diapers.
But we know that once this immediate crisis is over, there will be many families with additional needs. Due to reduction in hours or elimination of jobs for hourly wage earners living paycheck to paycheck, after the immediate crisis is over we anticipate a huge increase in our financial assistance requests. This assistance includes rent and utility assistance.
We have established a special Saint Joseph fund to accept donations to ensure that we can help as many people financially affected by the virus as possible. 100% of all donations will help families get back on their feet as they try to navigate the uncertain days ahead. We are collaborating with community partners to offer our assistance in any way that we can and are grateful to our supporters that allow us to continue to do God’s work.
History will remember this time as a time of great crisis throughout the world. But it will also remember that you were a part of the CCEVA family that was resolved to serve with greater love and deeper compassion.
Saint Joseph, Husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary, pray for us!
Yours in Christ,
Chief Executive Officer
