Director of Development & Marketing
Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia is seeking an energetic, dynamic professional to serve as its Director of Development & Marketing. This position will provide fundraising leadership for the agency which includes cultivating donors, increasing community support and resources, and planning and executing special events. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with the general and executive board and board committees to accomplish the strategic goals of the agency. The position requires work outside of normal working hours and on some weekends as needed. The Director will utilize donor software (ETapestry) to ensure that all donor information is tracked and reported, and analyzed for effectiveness. In addition, the Director will utilize this database to develop specific strategies for targeting marketing and development opportunities. The Director will also help solicit planned gifts to grow the CCEVA Foundation. Additionally, the Development Director is charged with maintaining the agency’s websites, and print materials, as well as all social media efforts. The Director plans and analyzes marketing efforts to determine effectiveness. The successful candidate will support and assume other duties as directed by the CEO to ensure the success of the Agency.
The ideal candidate has a four-year degree in communications, public relations or journalism and 5 years related experience preferred. Training or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. The ability to communicate effectively to diverse audiences. experienced in training and supervising development staff, ability to understand, promote, fundraise and advocate for a faith-based non-profit organization are all essential, as well as strong interpersonal skills to work successfully with staff, board members, community and corporate leaders. Life Coach (Sentara OBICI/Belle Harbour Emergency Department):
Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia is looking for a Life Coach to work in two Suffolk Emergency Departments; as such, proximity and familiarity with the area and its resources is important. The qualified candidate should be an LPN, CNA, ED Technician or have Medical assisting background and have a strong history of medical work experience.
This is a full-time salaried position with benefits. The salary is $29,120 per year. The hours are: Monday, Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Belle Harbour, and Wednesday through Friday’s 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Sentara OBICI Hospital. Candidate will work with hospital staff to identify patients for “Life Coach” services, educate patients on available resources, coordinate access to PCP and acute/specialty care personnel, monitor services and provide written quarterly reports and other duties as assigned. Candidate should be computer literate, a self starter, well organized, have a valid Virginia drivers license, an acceptance of Pro-Life philosophy, and be able to adapt to a flexible work schedule as necessary.
