Financial Accounting Assistant (Full-time, 40 hours)

Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia is seeking an accounting assistant to be responsible for the day to day accounts receivable and cash receipts and to coordinate the financial case management of Guardianship and Conservator clients, which includes preparing and filing external reports to include accountings and inventories.

Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in accounting or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. The successful candidate will have competency in Excel and QuickBooks, excellent written and oral communication skills coupled with a positive attitude.

Senior Services Associate (Full-time, 40 hours)

Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia, Inc. is looking for a Senior Services Associate to provide administrative support for our senior services. This is a full-time, 40hr/week position with benefits.

A qualified candidate should have two years of previous administrative experience (preferred), be computer literate, and have a valid Virginia driver’s license. The Senior Services Associate will support the Senior In-Home Services Coordinator
with all clerical duties including data entry and organizing documentation. The associate will also create monthly and quarterly reports, track program data, and assist with program-related marketing. The associate will interact with both clients and CCEVA senior service workers.

Candidate should be a self starter, well organized, and be able to meet deadlines independently. This position will be located in Virginia Beach, but occasional travel to the Peninsula and Southside will be needed during the work day. To apply please send resume and cover letter to EOE


Human Resource Coordinator (Full-time, 40 hours)

Catholic Charities is looking for a Full-Time Human Resources Coordinator for its main office, 40 hours per week.  The ideal candidate will have two or more years of related office experience and Bachelor’s Degree in related field.

The essential function of this role is to provide human resource services for all areas of the agency, including:  employment recruitment, new employee orientation, payroll, employment compliance with federal and state laws, attendance, exit interviews, human resource policy development and implementation, administrative support at board meetings, and other duties as assigned.

A qualified candidate will have excellent written and communication skills and a professional, friendly demeanor. Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office and be very organized. AP/ AR Specialist (Full-time, 40 hours)

Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia is seeking an AP/ AR Specialist to support the financial case management of our Guardian/ Conservator and Rep Payee clients. The ideal candidate has an associate’s degree in a related field, though equivalent experience may be considered.

A qualified applicant will have 3+ years of experience in processing AP and AR, an understanding of general ledger concepts, journal entries, and account reconciliation, and competency in Excel and QuickBooks. Some responsibilities include processing payments, preparing bank reconciliations, balance sheets, and audit schedules, and maintaining client files.

Companion Care Program Workers 

CCEVA is hiring several Companion Care workers to provide companionship to clients enrolled in the Companion Care Program in order for them to stay socially engaged and to provide assistance with their daily activities in order to remain in their home comfortably and safely. The Companion Care Program provides non-medical, in-home support services such as: home management (light housekeeping, laundry, bed making, and trash removal), meal planning and preparation, grocery shopping and running errands for client, transporting clients in your car to run errands and shopping, and providing medication reminders.

Successful applicants will have two or more years of recent experience in caring for the elderly.  Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or have successfully completed a Home Care Training Program is preferred.  Candidates should be dependable, people-oriented, have attention to detail, and ability to work independently.  Must have an insured vehicle and a valid Virginia Driver’s License in good standing, a High School Diploma or equivalent, and be First Aid/CPR certified.  Applicants should have a working telephone with voicemail, must have a clean background check, a negative TB test, a negative drug test and must complete a 25-hour training course.  The physical requirements of the job are the ability to bend over, the ability to stand for extended periods of time, lift 10 lbs., push a vacuum, and climb stairs.

In-Home Respite Care Workers

Applications are now being taken for In-Home Respite Care Workers ages 18 through retirement years.  After completing a 25-hour free training program, the workers will be put on CCEVA’s registry and assignments will be given to work in 3- to 8-hour increments in various households in the Hampton Roads area.  This is considered a contracted position, part-time with flexible schedules.

Qualifications are: a sincere interest in helping older adults to maintain some independence, a caring spirit and an initial commitment to work in the program for four months after the training.  The Respite Worker will also be required to complete a Social Service and Criminal Background check.  EOE
