Representative Payee Coordinator

Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia is in need of a full time (40/hrs. per week) Representative Payee Coordinator. The purpose of this position is to complete Representative Payee duties as needed according to Social Security regulations. Qualifications include a minimum three years related experience, be computer literate and have a desire to work with vulnerable populations.

The qualified candidate will be responsible for payment of client monthly bills, establish a budget plan for each client consistent with Social Security guidelines review, authorize and submit payment requests for client bills, track expenditures and monthly cash flow for clients, prepare any Social Security reports as needed, communicate with clients and all others in a professional manner, keep abreast of community resources available and refer clients as needed.  The coordinator will maintain contact and work in conjunction with client community case worker and Social Security to ensure optimal case management and must be able to interact with others associated with the program, track expenditures and monthly cash flow for clients and perform related tasks as needed.  The candidate must be able to work in a mature, responsible and confidential manner and be able to effectively prioritize and execute job tasks.  Acceptance of Pro-Life philosophy a must.

Guardianship Administrative Assistant (Full Time – 40 Hours)

Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia is searching for a qualified full-time (40/hrs. per week) Guardianship Administrative Assistant to serve out of our Princess Anne (Virginia Beach) office. The qualified candidate will serve as administrative support to the Guardianship Services Department and provide supplemental assistance to Mental Health Counseling (MHC) Department.  Must have three or more years of related office experience with a professional and friendly demeanor that is team-oriented, computer proficiency in Excel, Word and database software.  Greet clients and visitors, open mail and disseminate appropriately, perform routine clerical tasks (faxing, typing, make copies, filing, etc.) as required.  Assist with reporting for Guardianship Department, maintain list of active Guardianship clients, create folders for new clients, enter and retrieve data in Apricot database when necessary.  Schedule new MHC clients, check-in existing MHC clients, take payments and run weekly MHC deposit reports. Keeps abreast of community resources available to clientele served by department, performs related tasks as needed such as physically being able to lift boxes, track/schedule building, and vehicle maintenance.

Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Specialist (Full Time – 40 Hours)

Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia is seeking a candidate for the position of Accounts Payable/Receivable Specialist. This position is primarily responsible for performing Accounts Payable and Receivable duties related to the financial case management of fiduciary client accounts. The successful candidate will work closely with Case Managers and program specialists to ensure the timely and accurate payment of all client bills as well as the collection of all program service fees for each client.  The successful candidate will have 3+ years experience in an Accounting or Finance department processing both AP and AR transactions, posting journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts.  Strong analytical and problem solving abilities are a must.  An Associate’s degree or equivalent coursework in a related field is preferred.  Computer competency including an in depth knowledge of QuickBooks and MS Office Excel is required.

Life Coach (Bon Secours Maryview Hospital)

Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia is looking for a Life Coach at Bon Secours Maryview Hospital Emergency Department that is familiar with community resources and has a strong history of medical experience. The qualified candidate should have at least two years’ experience in the medical field.  This is a full-time position with benefits and the hours are Monday thru Friday.  The shift is 10:00 am-6:30pm. Candidate will work with hospital staff to identify patients for “Life Coach” services, educate patients on available resources, coordinate access to PCP and acute/specialty care personnel, monitor services and provide written quarterly reports and other duties as assigned. Candidate should be computer literate, a self-starter, well organized, have a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptance of Pro-Life philosophy, and be able to adapt to a flexible work schedule if necessary.

Companion Care Pilot Program Workers 

CCEVA is hiring several Companion Care workers to provide companionship to clients enrolled in the Companion Care Pilot Program in order for them to stay socially engaged and to provide assistance with their daily activities in order to remain in their home comfortably and safely. The Companion Care Program provides non-medical, in-home support services such as: home management (light housekeeping, laundry, bed making, and trash removal), meal planning and preparation, grocery shopping and running errands for client, transporting clients in your car to run errands and shopping, and providing medication reminders.

Successful applicants will have two or more years of recent experience in caring for the elderly.  Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or have successfully completed a Home Care Training Program is preferred.  Candidates should be dependable, people-oriented, have attention to detail, and ability to work independently.  Must have an insured vehicle and a valid Virginia Driver’s License in good standing, a High School Diploma or equivalent, and be First Aid/CPR certified.  Applicants should have a working telephone with voicemail, must have a clean background check, a negative TB test, a negative drug test and must complete a 25-hour training course.  The physical requirements of the job are the ability to bend over, the ability to stand for extended periods of time, lift 10 lbs., push a vacuum, and climb stairs.

In-Home Respite Care Workers

Applications are now being taken for In-Home Respite Care Workers ages 18 through retirement years.  After completing a 25-hour free training program, the workers will be put on CCEVA’s registry and assignments will be given to work in 3- to 8-hour increments in various households in the Hampton Roads area.  This is considered a contracted position, part-time with flexible schedules.

Qualifications are: a sincere interest in helping older adults to maintain some independence, a caring spirit and an initial commitment to work in the program for four months after the training.  The Respite Worker will also be required to complete a Social Service and Criminal Background check.  For more information or an application, call the In-Home Respite Care coordinator, at Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia 757-875-0060.
