Guardianship Financial Coordinator (Part-time 20 hours per week)

Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia is seeking a candidate to coordinate the financial case management of Guardianship and Conservator clients, which includes the preparation and filing of all external reports to include accountings and inventories.

Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in accounting or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. The successful candidate will have competency in Excel and QuickBooks, excellent written and oral communication skills coupled with a positive attitude and problem solving abilities.

Candidates Responsibilities are as follows:

Work closely with the Director of Guardianship, Case Managers, and AP/AR Specialist to ensure optimal financial case management for clients, establish bank accounts for all clients as needed and coordinate direct deposits, prepare and make any manual deposits for client accounts, prepare and submit all required Inventories and Asset Accountings for client accounts in a timely manner to the Commissioner of Accounts. Prepare requests for distribution of funds for Administrator/Executor accounts when necessary. Responsible for calculating guardianship & conservator fees due to agency and ensure collection of those fees. Maintain financial files for clients; to include onsite and files in storage, tax preparation and filing for conservator clients, review and verify all bank account reconciliations, and prepare any audit schedules as needed. Administrative Assistant – Full-time, Princess Anne Rd. Office

Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia is searching for an administrative assistant to support our Guardianship & Mental Health Programs, located at our Princess Anne Office (4855 Princess Anne Road). Responsibilities include routing daily incoming calls to appropriate staff members or resources, routing voice mails, greeting office visitors, and assisting with issues related to office, building, and car maintenance. The administrative assistant will also perform routine clerical tasks, distribute mail, and maintain direct, ongoing contact with clients as needed.

Ideal candidates are professional, friendly, and team-oriented. Preferred candidates have three or more years of related office experience and are proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. Companion Care Program Workers 

CCEVA is hiring several Companion Care workers to provide companionship to clients enrolled in the Companion Care Program in order for them to stay socially engaged and to provide assistance with their daily activities in order to remain in their home comfortably and safely. The Companion Care Program provides non-medical, in-home support services such as: home management (light housekeeping, laundry, bed making, and trash removal), meal planning and preparation, grocery shopping and running errands for client, transporting clients in your car to run errands and shopping, and providing medication reminders.

Successful applicants will have two or more years of recent experience in caring for the elderly.  Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or have successfully completed a Home Care Training Program is preferred.  Candidates should be dependable, people-oriented, have attention to detail, and ability to work independently.  Must have an insured vehicle and a valid Virginia Driver’s License in good standing, a High School Diploma or equivalent, and be First Aid/CPR certified.  Applicants should have a working telephone with voicemail, must have a clean background check, a negative TB test, a negative drug test and must complete a 25-hour training course.  The physical requirements of the job are the ability to bend over, the ability to stand for extended periods of time, lift 10 lbs., push a vacuum, and climb stairs.

In-Home Respite Care Workers

Applications are now being taken for In-Home Respite Care Workers ages 18 through retirement years.  After completing a 25-hour free training program, the workers will be put on CCEVA’s registry and assignments will be given to work in 3- to 8-hour increments in various households in the Hampton Roads area.  This is considered a contracted position, part-time with flexible schedules.

Qualifications are: a sincere interest in helping older adults to maintain some independence, a caring spirit and an initial commitment to work in the program for four months after the training.  The Respite Worker will also be required to complete a Social Service and Criminal Background check.  For more information or an application, call the In-Home Respite Care coordinator, at Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia 757-875-0060.
