Guardianship Data Administrative Support (Part-Time – 24 Hours)

Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated individual for the part time (24 hours) position of Data Administrative Support for the Guardianship Program located at our Virginia Beach Office (4855 Princess Anne Road).

The functions and responsibilities of this position include:

  • Follow-up with social security admiration, O.P. M, Dfast  and other monthly benefits organization on clients behalf
  • Assist the case manager in completing Medicaid application and follow-up with eligibility worker
  • Help case managers maintaining clients file and filing paperwork
  • Assist case managers with  uploading files, notes and report on apricot
  • Organize deceased clients’ files
  • Make and return calls to facilities, but not family members

The qualifications for this position include:

  • Experience in the Human Services field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, Internet and electronic record keeping

Life Coach (Maryview Emergency Department):

Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia, Inc. is looking for a Life Coach that is familiar with community resources and has a strong history of medical experience for the Maryview Emergency Department. The qualified candidate should have an LPN, CNA, ED Technician Pharmacy Technician, or Medical Assistant background.

This is a full-time position with full benefits. The hours are 11:30am-8:00pm, Monday-Friday, which qualifies for a $1 per hour shift differential. The successful candidate will work with hospital staff to identify patients for the “Life Coach” services, to educate patients on available resources, coordinate access to a PCP and acute/specialty care personnel, monitor services and provide written quarterly reports and other duties as assigned. The preferred candidate is proficient with computers to include Microsoft Office, a self starter, well organized, have a valid Virginia driver’s license, be able to adapt to a flexible work schedule if necessary and be accepting of Pro-Life philosophy.

Administrative Assistant –Chesapeake (Churchland Area) Office – 32 hours

Catholic Charities is looking for a Full-Time Administrative Assistant for our Chesapeake/ Churchland office, 32 hours per week. The position will serve as administrative support for the Financial and Housing Counseling Department.

The qualified candidate will be responsible for maintaining the office, greeting customers and providing administrative support to counselors and case managers working out of that office. Candidate should have three or more years of related office experience and must be proficient in keyboarding, Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel and the ability to determine crisis situations and act appropriately. The essential functions include taking Counseling intake information and scheduling appointments; routing incoming phone calls and providing resource information; greeting clients and visitors; maintaining the client files (paper and electronic); attending monthly department meetings; maintaining a high level of confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA; providing support to the FHC department as needed; and performing routine clerical tasks like faxing, filing, scanning and copying.

Financial and Housing Counselor (Full Time – 40 hours)

Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia is searching for a qualified full-time Financial and Housing Counselor to serve primarily out of our Chesapeake (Churchland) office. The primary job of a Financial and Housing Counselor is to provide clients with professional financial and/or housing counseling services. Counselors will advise and educate clients on a variety of financial topics and use professional discretion and judgment to help clients set up and implement an individually tailored Action Plan that addresses their specific issues and concerns. To fulfill these roles the counselor must have good interpersonal skills, possess a working knowledge of finances/credit, understand default and loss mitigation solutions, be an effective problem-solver, and be able to convey suggestions/ideas in a constructive, nonjudgmental manner.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, two or more years experience in financial industry, and ability to work on projects independently. Candidates will hold certification, or will become certified (with training) within three months.  The candidate will develop and compose educational curriculums in support of community outreach and educational activities, have basic proficiency with calculator, Microsoft Word, Excel, & Outlook, and will meet with clients to create action plans to meet their financial goals. Candidate will adhere to and follow HUD Federal regulations and other funder reporting guidelines that include appropriate case documentation, data entry, client action steps, client follow up and closing protocols.
