Administrative Assistant – Norfolk Office
Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia is seeking friendly and motivated individual for the Receptionist/Administrative Assistant position for our Norfolk office and works closely with administrative staff and staff in the Norfolk office. This is a full time position (32 hours per week – Monday through Thursday) eligible for medical and other benefits.
The essential functions and responsibilities for this position include greeting clients and visitors, collecting payments for services, answering incoming calls/faxes and routing to appropriate staff, keeping abreast of agency and community resources and referring clients to additional resources and services, providing administrative support to the Adoption Services Department, and keeping the office organized.
- One or more years of related office experience.
- Mastery of computer skills; Competency in Microsoft office required.
- Ability to work 8:30 am to 5 pm Monday through Thursday.

Executive Assistant – Virginia Beach Office
Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia is seeking an Executive Assistant to support the CEO and Board of Directors, administrative oversight of IT, the maintaining of agency contracts and assist CEO with scheduling, projects, and administrative management. This position will also assist the CEO by providing Human Resources administrative services to include recruitment, HR file management, onboarding new employees, compliance with federal and state laws, and exit interviews. This position is a full-time position (30-40 hours per week) located at our Virginia Beach Main Office (5361 Virginia Beach Blvd) and reports directly to the CEO.
The qualified candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office and possess two or more years of office experience. This position requires confidentiality, and the ability to adhere to numerous deadlines while multi-tasking several projects simultaneously. Child Care Workers
Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia is looking for one or two individuals to work with children for our Post Adoption Services Program. There will be two(2), six(6) session courses offered in the Spring of 2018 and June 2018 as well as eight(8) Saturday sessions between September 2017 and June 2018. The individual(s) would be responsible for watching children while their parents attend the course session. Each week (or Saturday) will have structured activities scheduled as well as time for free play. This is a unique experience to work with children who have been adopted along with their families.
The candidate should have experience working with children. A student working on their associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, or master’s degree is preferred. This position will serve both sides of the water. The six session courses will be offered on weeknights (2.5 hours) and the one session course will be held on Saturday’s (4.5 hours). The pay for this position is $15/hour.

Financial Coordinator, Guardianship Services
Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia is seeking a highly motivated individual for the Financial Coordinator position for our Guardianship Services Department. This position is based out of our Virginia Beach office and works closely with the Guardianship Department Director and the Guardianship Case Managers. This is a full time position (30 hours per week) eligible for medical and other benefits.
The Financial Coordinator is responsible for keeping Guardianship client financial assets organized. Responsibilities include: Maintaining client Financial files, ensuring that all required Inventories and Asset Accountings for client accounts are submitted to the Commissioner of Accounts in a timely manner, tax preparation and filing, reviewing and verifying all bank account reconciliations, keeping abreast of community resources available to Guardianship clientele, among others.
- Associate Degree in a financial related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Mastery of computer skills; Competency in Excel and QuickBooks required.
- Excellent Written and Oral communication skills and problem solving abilities.
