Executive Assistant/Human Resources Representative (Full Time)

Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia is seeking an Executive Assistant/Human Resources Representative to support the CEO and Board of Directors, to include back-up of front desk, administrative oversight of IT, the maintaining of agency contracts and assist CEO with scheduling, projects, and administrative management. This position will also provide Human Resources services for the organization, to include recruitment, onboarding new employees, compliance with federal and state laws, and exit interviews. This position is a full-time position located at our Virginia Beach Main Office (5361 Virginia Beach Blvd) and reports directly to the CEO.

The qualified candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office and possess two or more years of office experience. This position requires confidentiality, and the ability to adhere to numerous deadlines while multi-tasking several projects simultaneously.  Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as attention to detail are a must.  If interested, please send cover letter and resume to EOE

 Financial and Housing Counselor (Full Time – 40 hours)

Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia is searching for a qualified full-time Financial and Housing Counselor to serve primarily out of our Chesapeake (Churchland) offices. The primary job of a Financial and Housing Counselor is to provide clients with professional financial and/or housing counseling services. Counselors will advise and educate clients on a variety of financial topics and use professional discretion and judgment to help clients set up and implement an individually tailored Action Plan that addresses their specific issues and concerns. To fulfill these roles the counselor must have good interpersonal skills, possess a working knowledge of finances/credit, understand default and loss mitigation solutions, be an effective problem-solver, and be able to convey suggestions/ideas in a constructive, nonjudgmental manner.

Industry professional certification(s) is/are required by counselors. Counselors must dress and act professionally, must be organized and efficient in time/work management, and be able to perform all duties with minimal supervision. The qualified candidate will possess a High School Diploma or GED, Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, two or more years experience in financial industry, and ability to work on projects independently. The candidate must be able to compose educational curriculums in support of community outreach and educational activities, have basic proficiency with calculator, Microsoft Word, Excel, & Outlook, and general filing and administrative tasks, retain the ability to adhere to and follow HUD Federal regulations and other funder reporting guidelines that includes appropriate case documentation, data entry, client action steps, client follow up and closing protocols.
